The NHL 24 development team announced a series of gameplay changes after reviewing the feedback from the Community Playtest period, and the NHL community celebrated this enthusiastically.

After stating the start of the first NHL 24 closed beta, EA Sports made a series of announcements that have taken the NHL 24 community by surprise. These announcements are related to a couple of changes that the community itself has expressed need to be fixed.

The devs highlighted that they haven’t finished reading all the messages from the NHL 24 Community Playtest feedback yet, but they agree that there are certain changes they “would like to make official immediately.”

NHL 24: What are the devs announcements about?

On their official X account, EA Sports have announced that there will be some changes regarding new gameplay mechanics like the Skill Control, the Total Control scheme, and the Goalies Tether control scheme.

The first of these changes is that EA Sports will add “Hybrid Controls as an additional option, alongside Skill Stick and the new Total Control scheme.” The second significant change is related to the new goalie mechanics. They will be “adding the option to use the new Goalie Tether control scheme or the standard Goalie Control System,” like it used to be in NHL 23.

Lastly, it’s important to note that all these changes will be reflected in the post-launch update of NHL 24. Additionally, EA Sports pointed out that these “are just some of the improvements” they are working on based on the community feedback and there will be more news about this soon.
