With Helldivers 2’s availability on both PS5 and PC, Xbox players also want to jump in the fun. Here’s everything we know about whether Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox, including the latest rumors following its launch on PlayStation and PC.

Helldivers 2 has quickly become one of 2024’s biggest AAA releases, and millions of players are jumping in to fight alien forces, collect Super Credits, and upgrade their skills and armor. With both PlayStation 5 and PC versions available, Xbox owners have been wondering if the game will be coming to them as well.

Here’s everything we know about whether Helldivers 2 will come to Xbox Series X|S consoles in the future.

Is Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox?

No, there are no plans to release Helldivers 2 on Xbox at the time of writing. This is because the game is published by Sony, and the company decided not to make it available on other consoles and aimed for a PC and PlayStation release.

Helldivers 2 is Sony’s biggest PC launch to date.

In the latest episode of the Xbox Era Podcast, co-shot Nick Baker, also known as ‘Shpeshal Nick’ states that “there may be some very, very early, preliminary discussions about the possibility of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox.” He also mentions that the new PlayStation CEO “might be more open to certain things,” hence the rumors.

Also, back in February 2024, Microsoft Gaming CEO, Phil Spencer, addressed Helldivers 2 in an interview with Game File, insisting that excluding Xbox doesn’t benefit the community.

“I will say, when I look at a game like Helldivers 2 — and it’s a great game, kudos to the team shipping on PC and PlayStation — I’m not exactly sure who it helps in the industry by not being on Xbox,” Spencer said. “If you try to twist yourself to say, like, somehow that benefited somebody somewhere.”

However, he went on to say that he does understand the decision, adding: “There’s a legacy in console gaming that we’re going to benefit by shipping games and not putting them on other places. We do the same thing.”

It remains to be seen if Helldivers will arrive on Microsoft consoles later down the line, but with Spencer’s comments and the Xbox Era Podcast rumors, there might be a chance for Xbox players to fight for Democracy further down the line.
