Helldivers 2 has gained immense success since release, but as a result, players have been running into server issues that don’t allow them to login. Not to worry, though, as here are all the fixes you can try when you are hit with this error.

Helldivers 2 has only been growing in player base since release, recently surpassing Fortnite and Call of Duty on Playstation’s game chart and sitting at fourth most played on Steam at the time of writing.

This unprecedented success has come with some issues, though, as players are struggling to login to servers as a result. While Arrowhead games have promised they are working on a fix, here is what you can do to work around the error in the meantime.

How to fix “login limit reached” error in Helldivers 2

There are a few fixes you can try to work around the “login limit reached” error in Helldivers 2, and most of them revolve around tweaking your internet settings

You can try these strategies to work around the error:

  1. Close the app and load in again: Although it may be frustrating, multiple players have reported that repeatedly hitting the connect button has eventually helped them login.
  2. Switch your connection: You can try to switch between an ethernet connection and WiFi.
  3. Verify your game files: You can do this by right clicking on Helldivers 2 in Steam, going to Properties > Local Files, and selecting “Verify integrity of game files.”
  4. Add Helldivers 2 as an exception to firewalls: Adding Helldivers 2 as an exception to your firewall and anti-virus settings can help, as these could be blocking your game from logging in.
  5. Change your VPN settings: Players have found that switching off their VPN or switching to a different country has helped circumvent the login issue.
  6. Change your internet protocol: Go to network settings, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4), and use 8.8.8.8 as your preferred DNS server.

Some players are getting the “login limit reached” error which prevents them from getting in.

Arrowhead has already increased the concurrent amount of players that can join the servers, but as more players join the fight for Democracy, the login limit reached error persists.

Basically, what the error means is that too many people are trying to login to the game at the same time. So, along with the fixes mentioned here, you may also need a little bit of patience. Remember that before you try any of these to check the server status to see if it is down. They are usually quite communicative about this on their X page and official Discord server

It must be noted that these fixes are more of a workaround, and it is not likely that your setup or connection is at fault for the server issues. If the server is full, then unfortunately there isn’t much you will be able to do besides wait.

That’s everything on how to fix the login limit reached error. Arrowhead is continuously working on fixes for server issues, however, so we will keep you updated on any changes that come in future.
