Fortnite Season 4 has given players a plethora of fun content to explore, but a few teasers have the community convinced that it may be the last season of Chapter 3.

There has been plenty of exciting content for Fortnite players to dive into during Chapter 3, Season 4, with the 22.20 update patch bringing the Fortnitemares 2022 event and new Quests to complete.

Season 4 is set to end in December 2022, and players have been wondering if there will be a Season 5 update immediately afterward. However, some new teasers suggest that Chapter 3 might come to an end soon.

Prominent Fortnite leaker ‘HYPEX’ tweeted an image of the Chromeseed Back Bling that’s part of the Living Metal set in Chapter 3, Season 4. This reactive skin’s description mentions “a beginning for the end.”

This led to speculation about whether or not Epic Games are hinting at a major ending event for Fortnite Chapter 3. These theories were prevalent in the thread as other users provided more evidence for this being the case.

Another leaker ‘FitzyLeakz’ pointed out that one of the new items in the Fortnitemares 2022 event is called the ‘Everything’s End’ Glider, and that this is could be hinting at something bad happening at the end of the season.

They backed this up by sharing images of other cosmetic items like The Herald Outfit which warns players in its description that “The Nothing is coming.” One user shared this under HYPEX’s tweet and claimed “this is the last season of Chapter 3.”

This would be surprising since Chapters tend to last a lot longer than this. Chapter 1 had a total of ten Seasons before it ended while Chapter 2 featured whole eight seasons. So it would be a major change for Chapter 3 to end after just four seasonal updates.

A few of the replies agreed with this sentiment, with one user tweeting that if Season 4 is truly the last part of Chapter 3, then “depending on the day of the event, this Chapter won’t have lasted a full year.”

Of course, this is all purely speculation at this point, and it’s possible that the developers are just hinting at the arrival of a major event that will lead into Season 5. We’ll just have to wait for official confirmation to be sure.
