FIFA 22 Ultimate Team

The ever-popular FIFA Ultimate Team mode returns once more to get players playing, packing their favorite players to create the best possible team.

Arguably the biggest announcement so far is that it will feature new FUT Heroes. Intended to celebrate some football greats for their impact on football, lethal forwards such as Mario Gomez and Diego Milito will have special player cards that can be worked into different teams and styles.

EA recently showed their first look at the changes coming to Ultimate Team. Tweaks have been made to how Division Rivals works, with the mode being broken up into seasons as well as the usual weekly competition.

There will now be checkpoints within each rank to stop you from sliding down the standings if you hit a bad patch of form. There’s also the addition of win streaks, which let you climb the leaderboard quicker when you string together a series of wins on the bounce.

FUT Champions has also seen an overhaul. Teams are now entered into a mid-week Play-off stage to earn a place in the Finals at the weekend. Check out our full breakdown of the announcements here.

Creating a club could be an exciting proposition indeed. Fans have been begging for the feature for years, and this year EA is letting them craft a club from the ground up. Everything from your club’s kits, stadium, and even its principles are in your hands.

Once the cosmetics are sorted, it’s also up to the player to build a squad from scratch. There’s even the option to tweak the team’s age and rating, from a lower-league squad with a lot of promise, or an aging team in need of a rebuild.

Player Career is also getting revamped with new in-game objectives which impact the way your manager views you. The new challenges will also unlock XP, which grants you skill points to drop into the Pro Clubs-style skill tree and unlock brand-new perks.

These perks grant temporary buffs to turn matches on their heads. Some might boost the passing stats of all teammates to unlock stubborn defenses, while others provide shooting bonuses after scoring a goal to help kill the game off.

FIFA 22 Pro Clubs

FIFA 22 Pro Clubs

Often the forgotten and overlooked game mode by EA. Pro Clubs is a fun, social activity that sees multiple players create their own players and build their stats. Friends usually create a club for everyone to join, and you work your way through the ranks.

Fans of the game have been begging EA for years to implement fun, new features to make Pro Clubs fresh and it looks like this might finally be the year the mode lives up to its potential.

Many of the updates that are fleshing out the Player Career mode are making their way into Pro Clubs, most notably the XP system which gives much-needed structure to how Pro’s improve. Perks are also coming to the mode, which provides an extra tactical layer when trying to secure the win.

There’s a much stronger emphasis being placed on customization this year, with fans being able to kit their virtual club out with themes, tifos, and crowd chants.
