A FIFA 23 setting allows players to turn on an offside flag indicator that hovers over a player’s head if they’re in an offside position. Here’s how to turn the useful offside flag indicator on in FIFA 23.

To succeed in FIFA 23 you need to utilize every competitive advantage the game offers. While tweaking your custom tactics or using the best center-backs is a step in the right direction, you can take things a step further by turning on FIFA 23’s offside flag indicator.

With this setting enabled, a small flag will hover over your players’ heads when they wander into an offside position. Having a visual indicator of which players on your squad are offside could prevent you from playing offside passes.

Oftentimes, the decision to play a forward ball to your strikers is one that occurs in a split second. Thanks to the offside flag indicator, making a decision during that split second becomes a simple task.

This incredibly useful FIFA 23 tip was revealed to the FIFA subreddit by user Glibhat.

How to turn on FIFA 23 offside flag player indicator

  1. Launch FIFA 23 on your Xbox, PlayStation, or PC.
  2. Start a match in FIFA 23 of any game mode.
  3. Hit the pause button.
  4. Select Trainer Settings from the menu and head to Offside Indicator.
  5. Enable the Offside Indicator and return to your match.

With this setting enabled, you’ll decrease your chances of playing an offside pass and losing possession thanks to the visual cue above the player’s head.

You could also enable the offside flag indicator while not in a match by visiting the settings via the FIFA 23 main menu. Unfortunately, there is currently a bug that’s preventing settings from saving.

Until EA address this issue, it’s much easier to change your settings and activate the offside flag indicator while in a match. Since you’ll have to enable the setting each time you turn on your console or PC, we provided the instructions to do so while in a match.
