FIFA 23 will celebrate the Qatar 2022 World Cup before the tournament begins on November 20. A ton of World Cup-themed content will make its way to the game including the fan-favorite Ultimate Team mode.

While a World Cup taking place in the winter is certainly out of the ordinary, FIFA 23 players can rejoice in the fact that it means some refreshing content will make its way to the game.

EA will celebrate the 2022 Qatar World Cup with new content coming to FIFA 23, including several promos and SBCs for the Ultimate Team mode.

EA officially revealed their plans for the World Cup in FIFA 23 and players have reason to be excited. We’ll go over everything that’s coming to FIFA 23 down below.

FIFA 23 World Cup content start date

EA have confirmed that November 9 is the official start date for their FIFA 23 World Cup content. We know that the World Cup begins on November 20, so to release FIFA 23’s World Cup content almost two weeks before the start of the World Cup makes sense.

Players can expect a World Cup takeover to impact all of FIFA 23 and not just the popular Ultimate Team game mode.

FIFA 23 new World Cup Player Items

Players heading to the World Cup will receive FIFA World Cup Player Items in Ultimate Team. Some of these items will possess boosted attributes and they will head to FUT as of November 11.

You’ll find these special World Cup players in packs, objectives, and SBCs until December 23. Once the event comes to a close, these items will disappear from Ultimate Team.

FIFA 23 World Cup Swaps

A brand-new World Cup Swaps program will be kicking off on November 11. Much like Token Swaps systems of the past, players will look to collect as many Tokens as possible in order to obtain some valuable rewards.

According to EA, most of the Objectives rewarding World Cup Tokens will need to be completed using FIFA World Cup Player Items.

World Cup FUT Hero

Ultimate Team fans will receive a ton of World Cup-themed content before the 2022 winner is crowned. Of course, players already got a glimpse of the World Cup Heroes that will be making their way to FUT. These boosted versions of regular FUT Heroes will hit Ultimate Team on November 11 with a Team 1 first, followed by a Team 2 release.

November 11 is the day that players who pre-ordered the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition by August 21, will receive their untradeable FIFA World Cup FUT 23 Hero Player Item.

World Cup FUT Campaigns

As with most Ultimate Team events, it’s safe to expect some new promos or campaigns to hit FIFA 23. The World Cup will deliver just that in Season 2 of FUT. The campaign items will be permanent in FIFA 23 and will remain even after the World Cup event comes to a close.

World Cup Kick OFF

FIFA 23 will offer players the chance to play local Kick Off all while celebrating the illustrious tournament. “You’ll be able to play in any stage of the competition and choose a side from any of the 32 qualified teams, or from any other national team available in FIFA 23.”

FIFA World Cup 2022 Tournaments

The Tournaments mode will allow FIFA 23 players to experience the full World Cup journey from start to finish. You’ll select a team and take the from the group stage to the final.

FIFA World Cup: Live

An online mode will also be available to players outside of FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team. You can follow your team’s journey by playing through their fixtures.

This mode will update will real-life results and fixtures as of the opening match on November 20. This mode will be available for those who prefer offline play as well.
