Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 November 12 Update – Black Market Changes
Treyarch has released the latest Game Settings Update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Tuesday, November 12, and this new update has brought some huge changes to the Black Market.
The changes make the Black Market more user friendly and not a pay to win situation that it has been over the last year. Treyarch making this change so far out from launch seems to be related to the fact that Activision executives recently made the decision to not have any supply drops in Modern Warfare.
The new changes for the Black Market in Black Ops 4 are:
Black Market Revamp: Earn Weapons and Items in Blackjack’s Shop
We’re excited to roll out today’s new Black Market revamp that gives all Black Ops 4 players new direct paths to earning new weapons and rewards through gameplay. Here’s what you’ll see when you visit Blackjack’s Shop today:
- Pick-a-Weapon Bribe: Trade in 50 Reserve Cases to unlock a weapon of your choice from a Crate that also includes 2 Reserve items, along with a bonus of 5 Duplicate-Protected Crates for 15 additional Reserve items. Choose from a selection of base weapons, Mastercrafts, MKII weapons, Signature Weapons, and even the new MicroMG 9mm SMG or Eye of Apophis melee weapon. Watch for this bundle to refresh on a regular basis in the future.
- Reserves Stack: This new rotating offer displays a Reserve item that you don’t currently own, which can be unlocked by trading in 2 Reserve Cases. With the Reserves Stack, you’ll be able to see Reserve items before acquiring them. This offer will refresh to reveal a new item on a regular basis and refreshes instantly after acquiring the current item on display.
- My Deals: Two new rotating offers can now be unlocked with Reserve Cases and will always showcase items that you don’t currently own. Like the Reserves Stack, these will refresh on a regular basis, or instantly after the current item on display has been acquired.
If you see it in Blackjack’s Shop, you can earn it by trading in Reserve Cases! And speaking of new items to earn…
New Rewards and New Zombies Gauntlet on Xbox One + PC
Today’s update introduces a new collection of Black Market rewards to earn on Xbox One and PC, including the new “MicroMG 9mm” SMG, “Eye of Apophis” amulet weapon, “Pentagon Thief” Blackout character, as well as new Reactive Camos, weapon camos, outfits, Death Effects, Weapon Charms, and more. If you haven’t seen the Eye of Apophis in action yet (or been on the receiving end of one)… it’s pretty wild.
Our new “Tag der Toten” Zombies Gauntlet also arrives today on Xbox One and PC with “An Ice Day in Hell”, delivering 30 new rounds of challenges to complete for in-game rewards at rounds 10, 20, and 30. Good luck conquering all 30 with no strikes!2XP Stockpile in Multiplayer
Our second 2XP Featured Playlist joins the MP rotation this week with the return of Stockpile! We’ve had plenty of requests for this one to come back since its debut, so get in there and rank up all week long while it’s in the spotlight. Party game fans should keep an eye out for 2XP Prop Hunt coming to all platforms next Tuesday.
Duos Moshpit, Alcatraz Quads, Contract Fixes, and PC Optimization in Blackout
We’re constantly examining Blackout wait times across multiple regions and optimizing playlists to make sure people get into matches as quickly and reliably as possible around the world. While the introduction of LTM Moshpits and our new rotating playlist schedule make this possible, we understand these changes can come at the expense of those who play core modes exclusively.
Furthermore, our Daily Contract schedule wasn’t properly lined up with the latest playlist schedule, which led to a few Contracts that couldn’t be completed on certain days last week. PC players have also been asking for ways to start matches sooner… and we definitely heard your feedback on Alcatraz Duos. Today, we’re addressing everything above.
Quads-only players: we heard you last week and we’re keeping Quads permanently. For players asking for more Duos matches, we’re introducing our new Duos Moshpit today featuring Ambush Duos, Hardcore Duos, Down But Not Out Duos, and Close Quarters Frenzy Duos. If variety isn’t your thing, core Duos will be added to rotation more frequently in the near future.
Alcatraz Quads is replacing Alcatraz Duos today, and we’re keeping it at Quads. We heard your feedback that redeploying into the chaos of Alcatraz is more forgiving and simply more fun as a full squad, and while we heard from players who preferred the Duo model, we agree that Alcatraz works better in fours.
Starting today on consoles, all Contracts should always line up with the playlists currently live in Blackout. For example, this means you shouldn’t see a Daily or Hard Contract that can’t be completed that day because the mode required was currently out of rotation. Let us know if you do.
We’ve recently adjusted the maximum player count for Moshpit game types on consoles to 80 players, ensuring a balanced chance of matching into any available LTM. And on PC, we’ve reduced the maximum player count to 60 with a minimum of 50 players on all core and limited-time mode playlists. This should result in faster match start times across the board, while keeping the max player count at 40 in Alcatraz. We’ve also brought the PC playlist selection back to three playlists per week to further improve matchmaking health.
Keep your feedback coming, and enjoy the new Duos LTMs this week!
Weapon Charm/Death Effect Bug Fix
This update also fixes the pesky bug that prevented certain Weapon Charms and Death Effects from staying equipped after a match. This one has proven especially tough to nail down, so please let us know if you’re still experiencing this issue after today’s game update.
