Warzone players call for fan-favorite MW2 Sniper to be added
Warzone players are calling developers to add a fan-favorite sniper from MW2, but with the Vanguard integration coming soon, it’s not looking hopeful.
However, some fans have taken to Reddit to ask for a fan-favorite sniper to return.
Reddit user DropTheSoapFB posted a photo on the CODWarzone subreddit with the caption: “I am gonna leave this here.”
The picture is of the classic MW2 sniper, the Intervention, photoshopped into Warzone. There is also a caption above the image that says, “Bring back the quick-scope king.”
Quick-scoping has been a massive part of the community ever since MW2. The Intervention is also the sniper that everyone associates with quick-scoping, primarily due to its consistent one-shot one-kill potential and extremely fast ADS time.
Although there are many great quick-scoping options in Warzone, of course, players want the Intervention back, as it’s essentially the weapon that started it all. One comment even said they’d like to see another classic MW2 weapon to go with it: “I’d buy that bundle, but I want akimbo g18s to go with it.”
Although many fans in the comments agree that they would love to see the Intervention return, many are also stating that players would complain about it not feeling the same as it did “10 years ago.”
Players have been persistent in wanting the Intervention back, especially for Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Players had hope for its return in Modern Warfare as classic weapons from MW2 like the UMP-45 returned as the Striker 45 and the M4A1.
With Call of Duty: Vanguard being released November 5 and the integration with Warzone to happen soon after, it’s unlikely that we will see the Intervention return, but fans can still dream, especially if the reports of the 2022 Call of Duty game being a sequel to Modern Warfare (2019).
