The Champion of Caldera LTM is one of Warzone’s most popular playlist additions and players are begging the devs to make it a permanent mode in Season 4 Reloaded.

The Warzone playlist changes every week with new modes replacing old ones in a constant cycle. This rotation helps keep the game feeling fresh as players are never stuck with the same modes for too long.

Warzone LTMs are usually a big success amongst players as they offer an escape from the gameplay formula they’re used to. Previously, Operation Monarch, Caldera Clash, and Golden Plunder have all been LTMs that players seemed to enjoy.

However, the nature of a limited time mode is self-explanatory, in that it is meant to only be around for a short amount of time. In this short period, players have grown to love the Champion of Caldera mode, so much so that they’re now demanding that the devs make it permanent.

Champion of Caldera has been around since Season 3 Reloaded and the mode allows you to spawn in with your choice of loadout. With no need to loot for top-tier weapons, your goal is to survive amidst a constantly-closing circle that forces a ton of engagements.

Reddit user chopbustre produces an explanation in favor of the mode staying, in which they claim that the constant action has actually made them a better Warzone player: “My game sense and skill has improved dramatically over the last week. I am a 1 KD player who has upped to 1.6 since I started playing this mode.”

It seems there are benefits to playing Champion of Caldera beyond the fact that it is a fun Warzone experience. With over 200 upvotes at the time of writing, it’s no surprise that several players shared the OP’s sentiment:

“Fully agree. The constant circling and no camping truly is the best. In regular caldera people get loadout in sit in the same place all game. This definitely minimizes that and makes this mode more enjoyable.”

It’s rare to see such a large group of players all in agreement over the fact that the “mode needs to stay.” In fact, most players unanimously agreed when it came to the mode’s one issue: “they need to take out the ability to shoot/kill people in the air off the plane drop.”

Since players drop in fully equipped with their top loadouts, the ability to shoot players out of the air can ruin the fun from the get-go. Nonetheless, Champion of Caldera has been a resounding success for the Warzone community and it’s clear to see why they want it to stay.
