With Warzone 2 Ranked Play right around the corner, players are voicing their concerns over the state of the servers and the major issues that have plagued games throughout Season 3.

The highly anticipated Warzone 2 Ranked Play is finally set to launch on May 10 alongside the Season 3 Reloaded update. Fans of the battle royale will finally get the chance to play the competitive mode in its beta.

While Ranked Play has been at the top of Warzone players’ wishlists, several fans are concerned about the timing of the mode’s arrival.

It’s no secret that Warzone 2 is not the smoothest gaming experience at the moment, with major issues putting the World Series of Warzone on hold for the time being.

Warzone 2 Ranked Play fans concerned with server issues

Server issues have been a major theme in Season 3 as more and more players are reporting occurrences of lag, stuttering, and packet burst in Warzone 2 matches.

On May 8, Call of Duty content creator and CDL caster Joe ‘Merk‘ DeLuca shared a Twitter clip that showcases the current server issues in Warzone 2 with the caption: “Ready for Wednesday.”

The clip features major server issues as Merk and his squad load into a Warzone 2 match. Merk seemingly doesn’t have full control of his Operator as the server lag prevents him from moving around freely at the start of the match, which eventually leads to his inexplicable death.

Merk, Mason ‘Symfuhny’ Lanier, and James ‘Crowder’ Crowder can’t help but crack a few laughs at what they’re witnessing, with Symfuhny asking sarcastically: “When is Ranked coming out again, I forgot,” and Merk retorting with “do we get minus SR.”

Top Warzone content creators aren’t the only ones concerned about the state of the game amidst the launch of such a vital feature as Ranked Play.

Over on the Warzone subreddit players are constantly discussing changes that they’d love to see implemented. It seems players are in agreement that the most pressing issue is the fixing of Warzone 2’s servers.

The comment section of the above post features replies like “Server fixes 1000%” and ” Fix the servers and ping.”

It’s hard to imagine Warzone 2 Ranked Play thriving under the current circumstances and server quality. Luckily, the devs have already stated that they’re working on fixing “server-related gameplay issues.”

However, there’s no telling when this fix will arrive, and with Warzone 2 Ranked Play a few days away, it’s easy to see why players are concerned.
