Warzone 2 players slam “embarassing” World Series of Warzone postponement
The World Series Of Warzone Stage 1 EU and NA Qualifiers have been officially postponed by Activision, and the community has slammed this “embarassing” decision.
Warzone 2 players that were eager to check out the 2023 World Series of Warzone were met with disappointment as Activision delayed the 2023 WSOW NA Qualifiers due to various problems.
Six days before the beginning of the 2023 WSOW, Activision began looking into server issues being faced by Warzone 2 players, and many began wondering how the tournament could continue in this condition.
On May 3, the Warzone 2 devs announced: “Unfortunately, the WSOW Stage 1 EU and NA Qualifiers have been postponed. We are working on updates and will provide information to players shortly.”
While Activision did not confirm why the event was postponed, many players began speculating that it was due to AI enemies crashing matches. The Warzone 2 community was not pleased with this development.
A few Twitter users described this decision as “embarrassing.” Others had suggestions for how to fix the issue of AI enemies ruining Warzone 2 matches, such as limiting them to specific modes.
One user replied: “It’s almost as if the AI enemies should have their own mode variant. Both sides would be happy then. PvE folks have a replayable PvE mode and PvP don’t have to worry about AI.”
Other suggestions included keeping AI enemies limited to the DMZ mode or removing them from Warzone 2. Content creator ‘ModernWarzone’ tweeted that the reason for the postponement was that “the servers kept crashing once AI and Strongholds spawned into the map.”
Many other players in the replies to this tweet called for the removal of AI from the game, attributing it to be the cause of major server issues. We’ll be sure to update you once we learn what the plan is for WSOW.
