Viral Warzone TikTok turns HDR into pre-nerf Kar98k

Warzone players have been mourning the loss of the speedy and powerful Kar98k since its nerf in Season 3, but a viral TikTok has shown that the HDR can replicate the Kar’s pre-nerf power.

Warzone’s sniper meta was dominated by Modern Warfare’s Kar98k and Swiss K31 for over a year, with these high mobility Sniper Rifles dominating the most popular weapons list and giving little reason to choose any other.

Raven Software significantly changed the sniper meta in Warzone Pacific Season 3, making it so that the lighter Sniper Rifles lost their ability to one-shot headshot at any range. Quickscopers have been devastated by the nerfs, but a viral Warzone TikTok could have brought back the Kar98k with the HDR.

Since Warzone’s Kar98k and Swiss K31 were nerfed, it’s the HDR and ZRG 20mm that are dominating long-range fights. But, these weapons have a much slower ADS speed than the previous sniper meta.

To get around that, TikTok creator MrMarvelTV said they “made the HDR into the Kar98k,” using attachments to vastly increase its ADS speed. In the video, we can see the TikTok creator use its fast ADS speed to snap onto enemies in Rebirth Island, clicking on their heads with ease.

This Warzone HDR loadout isn’t as fast as the Kar98k, but it has that one-shot headshot distance at any range which makes it much more versatile than the current iteration.

  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Stock: FTAC Stalker-Scout
  • Underbarrel: Bipod
  • Perk: Focus

MrMarvelTV’s HDR loadout is built for maximum aim down sight speed, using the Tac Laser and the FTAC Stalker-Scout to make it ADS as fast as possible, allowing you to quickly snap onto targets.

The Bipod underbarrel is a unique choice, but it reduces the HDR’s recoil without impacting its ADS speed. The Focus Perk is a powerful choice, however, reducing the amount of flinch, meaning you can stay on target even while getting shot.

The TikTok creator opted not to use a fifth attachment as they all hurt ADS speed, but you still might want to use a barrel to increase its bullet velocity.
