How to counter Serpentine Perk in Warzone

Warzone player and serpentine perk

Warzone players are completely fed up with the Serpentine and its major damage reduction, but there’s a way that players can counter its effects. Here’s how to render Serpentine useless in Warzone.

Warzone’s Serpentine Perk was originally designed to counter one-shot Sniper Rifles and give players the chance to react when getting shot in the back. Serpentine vastly reduces incoming damage when sprinting, and there are a ton of clips of players sponging a ton of bullets while running away.

It didn’t take players long to get fed up with the Serpentine, saying it makes the game too difficult and branding it the “dumbest Perk” in the history of CoD. However, there’s a simple yet effective counter to Serpentine in Warzone.

Frangible - Disabling Perk in Warzone

All that Warzone players need to do to counter Serpentine in Warzone is use a Modern Warfare weapon and equip the Frangible – Disabling Perk.

Serpentine only activates while a Warzone player is sprinting, and this is what makes Frangible – Disabling such an effective counter. When using the Perk, your bullets will slow enemies down, and hitting their legs will stop them from Tactical Sprinting.

Your target will grind to a halt and Serpentine won’t work, rendering the Perk completely useless.

Best M13 loadout to counter Serpentine in Warzone

Warzone M13 loadout to counter Serpentine Perk
  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus Marksman
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
  • Perk: Frangible – Disabling

We’ve chosen to run the Frangible – Disabling Perk with Warzone’s M13 because of its competitive place in the meta and extremely low recoil.

You can afford to take the underbarrel attachment off without losing too much recoil control or accuracy and use the Frangible – Disabling Perk instead to completely counter the Serpentine Perk.

The rest of the attachments are the standard Warzone M13 loadout, using the Monolithic Suppressor and Tempus Marksman barrel for extra range and bullet velocity. Finally, the VLK 3.0x Optic is a solid choice, and you’ll need the 60 Round Mags to increase the M13’s damage-per-mag.

There’s no word on whether Raven Software will adjust the Serpentine Perk, but we expect there to be a ton of changes in the Season 4 Reloaded update which we expect to arrive at the end of July.
