The Heroes vs Villains event came as part of Warzone Season 5, bringing back classic baddies from CoD history, but streaming star Dr Disrespect is less than impressed with Raven’s latest idea.

Warzone Season 5 is the final chapter before Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 take over and move the series forward. It’s no surprise then that Raven pulled out all the stops in the Last Stand update.

On top of new weapons like the EX1 Energy Rifle and RA 225 SMG, the Heroes vs Villains event arrived, bringing back a number of iconic villains from past CoD titles and giving players something else to think about during Warzone matches.

Players can pick their side and spend Faction Tokens, earned through kills and opening Supply Boxes, to decide whether the good guys or bad guys will win by the time event is over. It seems like a neat idea on paper, but popular streamer Dr Disrespect has been underwhelmed by the event.

Speaking during a recent stream, Doc questioned why the developers decided to include the Faction Tokens in the Heroes vs Villains event. “The concept of these, how does that ever make it out of the boardroom?” he said after two Tokens popped out of a Supply Box.

He continued his rant, wondering how the idea made it out of the concepts phase and into the game. “How does that not get crossed out on the whiteboard immediately? But actually gets pursued and built and implemented in-game,” he added, with a sarcastic laugh and shake of the head.

This is hardly the first time that Dr Disrespect has slammed Call of Duty. The former Advanced Warfare dev has recently hit out a Modern Warfare 2’s graphics and predicted that Warzone 2 will die after a month.

The streamer has been a vocal critic of Warzone in particular, but, hopefully, the sequel will go some way towards getting the two-time excited about the battle royale once again.
