Vanguard players slam utterly “boring” Operators

CoD: Vanguard players are expressing their frustration with the current lineup of Operators; labeling them as “boring” and calling for more exciting characters in the game.

There are 12 different Operators that you can play as in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Picking any of them doesn’t affect your gameplay, since they’re essentially cosmetic skins that you wear in the multiplayer.

While they all have their own unique backstories and designs, some players aren’t satisfied with these Operators. Some members of the Vanguard community feel that these characters just aren’t fun and exciting.

Reddit user ‘Mibs007’ expressed their frustration with the game’s Operators in the CoD: Vanguard subreddit, labeling them as “boring.” The player also compared them to characters from older CoD titles.

They explained that older Operators were much more enticing: “It was hard to choose which one to use. You could barely resist giving in and buying one. Now they look like people you see eating a truck stop.”

Many of the commenters shared this sentiment and criticized Vanguard’s Operators. “Hate them all. Haven’t spent a penny on anything in the store since vanguard launched,” wrote one user.

Much of the criticism was directed towards the characters’ backstories. “I agree that they could be cooler characters though and their ‘lore’ feels like it was written by an intern in 5 minutes,” another commenter stated.

One user claimed that Vanguard’s Operators could be improved by having two factions: “All the operators are the good guys basically. If that had an Axis faction I think we would at least get some variety in character design.”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not the developers will implement a change like this in the game. We will probably see new Operators arrive in Vanguard Season 2, and those might be more to players’ liking.
