Vanguard players furious with lack of content in Season 3 Reloaded

While Warzone has received a ton of game-changing content with the Season 3 Reloaded update, Vanguard has barely received anything and furious players feel like they’ve been ignored.

While Call of Duty games receive major content drops with the seasonal updates, there’s almost always a ‘Reloaded’ mid-season update that brings even more content, bug fixes, and balance tweaks.

Warzone players are delighted with Season 3 Reloaded’s huge content drop, bringing an Underground Transit System, new game modes, and more, but not long after feeling ignored by the Operation Monarch event, Vanguard players have been left disappointed with the lack of content.

Raven Software and Sledgehammer dropped the Season 3 Reloaded roadmap on May 23, revealing a ton of new content for Warzone. Players felt the Vanguard section was particularly sparse, with the Sphere map being the only piece of Vanguard-exclusive content.

Vanguard Season 3 Reloaded will also bring the new H4 Blixen SMG, a new Operator, and new bundles  — but these are all shared with Warzone. To compare, Black Ops Cold War Season 3 Reloaded brought the 80s Action Hero event, Standoff to multiplayer, Duga to multi-team modes, Zombies updates, and more.

Twitter user ‘xFleXy_’ shared the content discrepancy between Vanguard and Warzone, and said they’ve “never seen a COD so poorly supported.” This was shared on the Vanguard subreddit where players vented their frustration.

“How tf is this ok?” asked one user. “They don’t even try to hide the fact they do not care about the traditional multiplayer community. Warzone is their bread and butter, and we should absolutely be livid about this.”

“Why couldn’t they add a map/gamemode from COD WW2 or something?? I feel like that would be pretty cool,” suggested u/NebNegreb.

A handful of players commented that it’s only a mid-season update, but Cute_Cookie563 said: “factor in that the actual season 3 update last month was tiny (one map, 2 guns?) and in total barely nothing new has happened this season.”

Many of these players believe that Sledgehammer Games have given up on Vanguard and are hoping that Modern Warfare 2 will be chock-full of traditional multiplayer updates.
