The biggest event of the Call of Duty League season is right around the corner with CDL Champs set to begin on August 4. Call of Duty fans will want to keep an eye out for a special Modern Warfare 2 announcement that is set to take place during the event.

Surprises are in store for those looking to catch some CDL Champs action as the most important event of the season is set to raise the bar. While crowd favorites like Seth ‘Scump’ Abner and Ian ‘Crimsix’ Porter are set to put their Vanguard prowess to the test, there’s no denying that Modern Warfare 2 is looming on the horizon.

Excitement for the upcoming Call of Duty title is palpable and it could reach a new peak during CDL Champs 2022 as major Modern Warfare 2 news is set to be revealed during the event. A previous leak already suggested that Ranked Play could arrive shortly after the October 28 launch, but more information is definitely waiting in the wings.

Previously it was revealed that tuning into CDL Champs could net you Modern Warfare 2 beta codes, but it seems there’s more in store for the CoD community.

Activision confirmed that “What’s Next” for Modern Warfare 2 will be revealed during the CDL’s Championship Sunday event on August 7. They confirmed that “members of Infinity Ward will share new information on Modern Warfare 2,” but didn’t explain exactly what will be revealed.

How to watch Modern Warfare 2 news at CDL Champs 2022

In order to see the Modern Warfare 2 news at the CDL Championship Sunday, all you need to do is tune into the CDL channel on YouTube on Sunday, August 7. While the stream kicks off at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM BST, there’s no word on when Infinity Ward will take the stage.

While the reveal is set for Sunday, the action kicks off on Thursday, August 4 with four matches to play. The CDL Champs event schedule will then consist of four more matches on Friday and Saturday, before the Grand Final takes the spotlight on Sunday, August 7.

This year, the competition was fierce as only eight of the twelve CDL teams qualified for Champs. The eight teams will battle it out for a prize pool of over 2 million dollars. The winning team will take home 1.2 million dollars and the title of champions.

Long-time Call of Duty fans will surely be pulling for the iconic OpTic Texas squad, while some will have their eye on Major Major IV winners Los Angeles Thieves. Of course, Atlanta FaZe are always a threat to win any given event and cannot be overlooked.
