One of Treyarch’s leading devs has responded to a bug that causes the nameplates of friendlies to not appear.

Given the frenetic pace of most games of Call of Duty, it’s imperative that you’re able to differentiate between your teammates and the enemy. It’s no good wasting time and bullets trying to takedown your friend, leaving yourself vulnerable to an attack from the enemy.

But, this is the scenario that many players are currently facing with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As a result, trusty Treyarch dev Josh “FoxhoundFPS” Torres has stepped in to try and offer some support.

Josh is no stranger to roaming the official Black Ops Cold War Reddit as he constantly tries to identify issues with the game.

Only recently has Treyarch addressed a glitch that traps players in menu screens and also Zombies Custom Mods blocking Dual Pistols. But now he’s responded to the nameplate issue that is causing players issues.

The original post said, “My teammates do not have any distinct icons or names over their head unless I look directly at them and it’s confusing. Been shooting at teammates all day. If there’s a setting I need to change then please help.”

Josh saw this post and was quick to offer an answer: “We’re investigating this one. You’re correct that it seems hard to repro 100%. I made sure to forward the latest threads and we’re currently taking a look at it.”

Having no nameplate is damaging, particularly to Hardcore players who could inadvertently be racking up a worrying, friendly body count. But the issue has been noted down, and rest assured that Treyarch will do their utmost to fix it.
