Black Ops Cold War Outbreak fans have been given a new challenge by Treyarch as the new hardcore variation has arrived in Season 5. The limited-time mode has interesting twists on the regular format, and we have them all here for you.

Treyarch’s support for Outbreak Zombies doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. The game mode has been a huge success, and new areas, objectives, and Easter Eggs are a testament to this.

The Numbers Event has finally landed in Cold War and Warzone, and along with new challenges and content, it’s also surprisingly added a new Outbreak Zombies game mode to test players.

Here’s everything we know about the new hardcore Outbreak Survival mode in Black Ops Cold War Season 5.

What is Outbreak Zombies hardcore mode in Cold War?

As with normal hardcore variations of standard Call of Duty game modes, the new hardcore Outbreak mode takes away useful resources from the player.

An informative Tweet from the official Treyarch Twitter account revealed all the differences between normal Outbreak and the hardcore variation.

Here are the key points concerning Cold War’s hardcore Outbreak mode:

  • Health regen disabled
  • Scavenge for food to survive
  • Start with a 1911 pistol
  • No mini-map, overhead map, or Blueprints
  • Survive as long as you can!

The biggest factors now are the lack of any health regeneration and no maps to guide you around the mission areas.

How long is hardcore Outbreak Zombies in Black Ops Cold War for?

It seems like players will need to cram as many games in as they can in the next month as the presence of the hardcore mode won’t last that long.

It’s expected that once The Numbers Event concludes, so will the Outbreak LTM. Meaning, hardcore Outbreak will be leaving on Tuesday, October 5.

Hopefully, you can get as many games in as possible before the game mode leaves Cold War as we approach the game’s, presumably, sixth and final season.
