With Battlefield 2042 set to release this year, Battlefield V has received a player resurgence, so we’re taking a look at how many people are playing 2018’s WW2 Battlefield in 2021.

Although Battlefield 2042 has just been delayed, players are still extremely hyped for the latest game in the franchise. This has brought players back to the previous titles, as they’re looking for the large-scale sandbox fix that no other FPS game can offer.

Battlefield 5, the most recent entry in the franchise, has seen a particular resurgence, with it having the most up-to-date graphics and mechanics that the series can offer.

Here’s how many people are playing Battlefield 5 in 2021.

Battlefield V is available across Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Origin, so there is a healthy pool of platforms to play the game on.

According to the website activeplayer.io, which collates data from all around the web, there was an average of 28,178 Battlefield 5 players across August and September 2021. This number has been gradually rising since June 2020, where Battlefield 5 averaged 21,379.

The website also estimates that there have been 49,807 Battlefield 5 players in the last hour (September 16), which is well above the average.

It’s worth comparing Battlefield 5’s player count to the other Battlefield titles that are available. Battlefield 1, the title before 5, has had an average of 7,106 Steam players in the past 30 days.

Battlefield 4, perhaps the game that will resemble 2042 the most, has had 5,072 Steam players in the past 30 days. Of course, these numbers are likely to be higher with other users playing on Xbox, PlayStation, and Origin.
