Is Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox?

Baldur’s Gate 3’s popularity on PC and PlayStation has helped it ascend to the top of the video game charts this year. However, if you own an Xbox and are wondering when you’ll be able to play BG3, here’s what the developers had to say.

Thanks to its success on PC, PlayStation, and Mac, Baldur’s Gate 3 has emerged as one of the most beloved games of 2023 and has shot to the top of nearly every video game chart this year. However, Xbox gamers haven’t been able to play the latest installment of the Baldur’s Gate series.

But Larian Studios haven’t kept quiet about it — they occasionally provide updates to their fans. The CEO recently tweeted once more regarding the game’s progress on Xbox.

With that in mind, here’s everything that the developers have said so far about an Xbox release of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Is Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is not available on Xbox right now, but you can access it on PC, Mac, and PlayStation 5. While this may be disappointing to Xbox owners, Larian Studios did confirm that Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to Xbox by the end of 2023.

The most recent post from Larian Studios’ official X account (formerly Twitter) stated that the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is “still on track for a December release,” and that the exact date for the release will be announced during The Game Awards.

An important point to highlight is that Baldur’s Gate 3 supports cross-platform progression from PC to PlayStation. It’s expected that after the game becomes available on Xbox, players will have the flexibility to switch platforms without worrying about losing their progress. However, this has yet to be confirmed.

Keep in mind that BG3 is available on the current-gen PlayStation 5 and not the PlayStation 4, so the developers will likely be bringing it to the Xbox Series X|S. This means that Xbox One players will not be able to experience Baldur’s Gate 3.
