A Baldur’s Gate 3 player proposed to their partner through the help of Astarion’s voice actor, and everyone is loving it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is renowned for its romantic storylines, and it’s not often we get to bring that kind of romance to the real world. One player took it upon themselves to get a Cameo from Neil Newbon, Astarion’s voice actor, to propose to their partner.

Redditor ‘0theliteralworst0’ shared the news with Baldur’s Gate 3 fans: “ For Christmas my partner got me a Cameo from Neil asking me to marry him,” they said. ”It was beautiful and thoughtful and Neil delivered so hard. I cried my eyes out and of course I said yes.”

Some fans thought the OP meant that Astarion had proposed to them in-game, and ran to the comments to find out how – speaking to the overwhelming majority who love romancing him.

This made the event even more special, though, as Astarion is one of the more popular companions to romance. Getting the Neil Newbon Cameo, who recently won an award for his performance as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, for the proposal proved to be an extremely special gesture.

This is not the first time this year that Astarion has proposed to a player, however. TikToker MarieJane shared her proposal that also used Neil Newbon on Cameo earlier this year.

The gesture was not only special to the couples in question, but fans loved that Neil Newbon cared enough about the Baldur’s Gate 3 community to be part of their special moments. One fan said, “That’s so sweet of your partner and Neil for delivering with care. Congrats!”

For fans, it’s always a good feeling to know that you are important to the voice actors and studios who create your favorite games. These kinds of special moments are the kind that stay with you for the rest of your life, and only time will tell if more come over the next few years from our beloved creators.
