Baldur’s Gate 3 has been praised as having some of the best-written companions in RPG history, but one player has discovered a sad detail about them.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the biggest names in RPG history after its massive success in 2023. With an innovative D&D style gameplay and immaculate character design, BG3 has been claimed by many to be a must-play for RPG enthusiasts.

Although the companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 have some of the deepest questlines in the game with some highly praised writing, one player has discovered a sad detail about them that has left many BG3 players disappointed.

Reddit user ‘Pppkd’ posted about this as they said: “Turns out our companions didn’t get along that much.” To prove their point, they shared a bunch of screenshots of companions interacting with each other when Tav was not present in the camp.

In every photo, they didn’t get along with each other as more often than not it was a rather “rude” interaction among them. The OP claimed that this was a “disappointment” as they went through a lot in the game, but still, there was not even a “simple greeting” among them.

The OP wasn’t the only one who was disappointed with the “cold dialogues” among companions as others wished “the game could use some team bonding moments.” Some even claimed that these dialogues were “out of character” for most companions in Baldur’s Gate 3.

For context, players can control any companion and interact with others present in the camp as long as the player character is not present there. However, doing so revealed that companions do not want to speak to each other and even Shadowheart had cold dialogues like “I don’t answer to you – move along.”

“They’re all a bunch of s**k-ups to Tav, envious of whoever is taken to go questing,” claimed one player while others were convinced that they could not become a “family” instead of mere companions in Baldur’s Gate 3.
