Wyll is gifted the Infernal Rapier

Baldur’s Gate 3 has many secrets to unlock, and a player has made a lucky discovery after 440 hours of gameplay: a gorgeous, very rare weapon in Act 2.

The list of weapons and armor in Baldur’s Gate 3 can be seemingly endless. The game provides you with many great options from vendors, who would have good items that are easier to find than buy, but it also hides away secrets that can be difficult to find.

Redditor ‘Arkakin’ posted about one such weapon find. “440 hours and I never knew about this GORGEOUS weapon,” they said.

Fans took to the comments in awe of the weapon’s statistics, but also just because of its overall look. It is called the ‘Infernal Rapier’, and it is gifted to Wyll by Mizora after you finish her quest to ‘free Zariel’s asset’.

Among other things, the Infernal Rapier allows the user to add their Spellcasting Ability Modifier to their Attack rolls and allows them to learn the level 6 spell Planar Ally: Cambion.

Interestingly, it also seemed that other fans were unaware of the weapon before the OP posted about it. Those who were aware gave tips on how to retrieve the weapon, saying that the key is to bring Wyll along to the colony after fighting Ketheric Thorm.

Some Baldur’s Gate 3 players even got it by accident, with one fan claiming “I got it [in] my first playthrough not knowing about it, just made sense to bring [Wyll].”

Briefly put, you need to make sure that you get the quest from Mizora when she visits you in your camp. Once you go through Moonlight Towers and defeat Ketheric Thorm, you will be able to enter the Illithid colony located in the area.

You must make sure that you have Wyll in your party, otherwise you will not receive the weapon. From there, you can complete the ‘Zariel’s asset’ quest and get the Infernal Rapier.
