The Netherbrain in Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3’s Honour Mode is the most difficult setting the game has to offer, and a lot of players have come up with creative ways to make sure they get to the end and defeat the Netherbrain one way or another.

Honour Mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 not only makes boss fights infinitely more difficult, but you can also fail a run if you die. As a result, players who decide to give it a go have had to come up with some creative strategies to survive.

Not only that, but it means that you can fail the entire run even when you are battling the final boss. In this case, you can safely assume that players will do anything to ensure their success, and one did so using only a helmet.

The player in question had a difficult fight on their hands, with most of their party dead and the Netherbrain thankfully on its last legs at literally one hit point. At this stage, though, the OP had no actions or bonus actions left at their disposal, and it was the last round before the Netherbrain would break free.

“In desperation, unwilling to believe I just lost my Honour run because of ONE HIT POINT, I spent five minutes checking every single option. Until I scrolled over… throwing…? No…” the OP explained.

“It turns out, Orpheus has three things in his inventory. A superior healing potion, a helmet, and gloves. And that’s how I beat Honour Mode, earning my golden dice, by throwing a helmet at the Netherbrain,” they concluded.

Essentially, the OP managed to complete their entire Baldur’s Gate 3 Honour Mode run by throwing a stray helmet at the final boss in desperation.

Players in the comments congratulated the OP on their victory, stating that it was brave of them to take the Netherbrain on directly in an Honour Mode run in the first place. “Honor on you, honor on your cow, honor on your whole family. Awesome end!” a fan commented.
