There are many rare cutscenes in Baldur’s Gate 3, but players have just found out of a hidden flashback to Shadowheart’s past in Act 1. Here’s what the Baldur’s Gate 3 community has been talking about.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has a ton of secrets that often offer some insight into the companions’ backstory. Like finding Tara, Gale’s tressym, during the first part of Act 3, there are some other hidden details scattered throughout Faerun that even foreshadow how the characters’ past will come into play later in the adventure.

Shadowheart backstory is one of the most mysterious of all characters, since she swears not to remember anything about it. However, most fans can get an intriguing cutscene related to it while exploring the Blighted Village, one of the first scenarios of Act 1.

When players go to the windmill where Barcus Wroot is tied, they’ll get to see a destroyed Sharran statue. This will automatically trigger a dialogue with Shadowheart where her attention seems fixed on the statue. Even if players ask her about what’s distracting her, she won’t say anything in particular and suggest that there might be other solutions to your quest hidden in the wilderness.

Fans were surprised to find that there’s another hidden cutscene in the Blighted Village that’s related to Shadowheart’s past. As described in Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, if players find the “Old Schoolbook” inside the house where the ogres are fighting (X:2, Y: 360), they’ll get an interesting alternative to this dialogue.

The OP also suggested players get a high approval rate from Shadowheart before triggering this scene, because otherwise, she won’t describe what she has felt after getting the book and dismiss any questions about it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 fans also pointed out that this scene can only be seen if players haven’t seen her reaction to the destroyed Sharran statue yet, since the game only allows one of these callbacks per playthrough.

“I only got the book cutscene exactly once, and I never understood why I could never get it again. It’s because I saved Barcus before collecting my Circlet of Smarts,” described a player.

And that’s everything about Shadowheart rare cutscene in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you want to know more about Larian Studios’ RPG, you can check why fans think Orin might be the true hero of the game, or why players explain why Gale’s “god ending” is actually a bad thing.
