With a campaign that lasts around 100 hours and tons of exciting side-content to explore, Baldur’s Gate 3 has grown to be one of the biggest games of 2023. It has been in the spotlight from day one, and players are desperate for more content to keep their adventure going.

Many Baldur’s Gate 3 players are wondering whether it will have DLC. So, here is everything about DLC for Larian Studios’ hit RPG.

Will Baldur’s Gate 3 have DLC?

Tom Butler, Senior Product Manager at Larian Studios, confirmed the possibility of DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3 while speaking to IGN during Gamescom 2023. Larian Studios have reassured fans that they are as passionate about the game as they are, and have hinted at adding DLCs.

However, they are not working on any expansion right now, but since the game has already been released on PS5, we may see a DLC release after Larian is done launching the game on Xbox.

A DLC might not be bad from a fan’s point of view, as the world of Dungeons and Dragons is huge. As such, it wouldn’t be hard to introduce new things to the game such as spells, locations, and quests. However, going past level 12 in D&D gives you godlike powers, which would be hard to implement in a game like Baldur’s Gate 3.

Larian Studios CEO and founder Swen Vincke said in an interview with PC Gamer that level 12-20 “adventures require a different way of doing things, in terms of antagonists you’re going to have to deal with, which require a lot of development to do them properly.” Vincke further stated that “you’d have to wait for a long time” if Larian were to make a DLC like that for Baldur’s Gate 3.
