Apex Legends Legacy update removes white armor from the loot pool
The upcoming Season 9 update for Apex Legends entitled Legacy seems to be changing the game in more ways than expected with one being a major change to white armor.
Apex Legends Legacy update will be arriving May 4th, adding lots of new content to the game, which Respawn Entertainment has officially revealed.
Apex Legends Legacy will remove white armor
During a recent interview, Apex Legends developer Daniel Klein stated that the developers were looking at ways to make sure the “loot pool doesn’t get too bloated.”
Using the popular LTM Locked and Loaded as an example, where all white loot was removed from the game, Daniel Klein stated there were some “balancing problems” with this mode, but they liked the way it distributed better loot.
Further, Klein mentions that in the upcoming season, Legacy, “everybody starts with a starter kit, so a white armor, white knockdown shield, white helmet, two cells, two syringes.” This would allow them to remove white armor from the loot pools, allowing RNG to drop more useful loot for players, equating to a better overall experience.
This would be a great change to the game, as it is even something many streamers and pro-players like @NiceWigg have been asking for to improve the Apex Legends experience.
This is also something that the developers have been playing around with in the current War Games event, wherein Armor Regen, players drop with a white shield and helmet, and shield cells are removed from the loot pool.
