Apex Legends players have been complaining about the large amount of in-game cheaters for quite some time, and now Respawn have reassured fans that they’re taking several steps to take care of this.

Ever since it first launched in 2019, Apex Legends has become one of the fastest growing battle royales with an extremely large player base. However, cheaters have been causing problems for fans that want to just have fun.

The issue of cheating has been impacting the community so much so that Respawn have issued multiple ban waves and outlined their plans to crack down on them. Now, after promising to take “huge steps” to crack down on them once and for all, they’ve finally started ramping up their efforts.

Respawn Entertainment have revealed some of the steps that they will be taking to crack down on cheaters in Apex Legends.

Various players have previously complained the game is becoming increasingly difficult due to the sheer number of hackers. Respawn tweeted out that they’re “pursuing several options to crack down on cheating in Apex Legends.”

They then listed the different steps that they’re planning to take, such as hiring more people to help with manual bans, developing more tools to automatically detect and stop DDOS attacks, and investigating ways to catch and remove cheaters.

“Playing against cheaters sucks,” the devs elaborated. “We’ll keep you updated as we ship the above changes and pursue new ones.”

While this news was met with an enthusiastic response from various fans, some of them were quick to point out that Respawn had made similar promises in the past. “I’ll believe it when it happens,” wrote one user.

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long to see these anti-cheat measures implemented. If they’re successful, then they will surely help the entire player base.
