Raven Software hiring a Community Manager, could hint at lead project for studio
Raven Software has put up a job listing today as the studio looks to hire a Community Manager for the studio, one of the first times they are building a Community team at the studio in many, many years.
Raven Software has been one of the support developers working behind the scenes on Call of Duty titles since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. The studio has been supporting Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer Games on all Call of Duty projects since then. They even became lead developer on the Call of Duty Online free to play game in China.
Raven Software is now looking to hire a Community Manager for the studio. The job listing says they’re looking for a CM to “be instrumental in forging an even deeper relationship with our global community of players, as well as the day-to-day publication of social content across a multitude of communications platforms.”
RAVEN SOFTWARE, developer of numerous award-winning games, including contributions to the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise, is looking for a talented and passionate Community Manager to join our high-caliber team. The Community Manager will be instrumental in forging an even deeper relationship with our global community of players, as well as the day-to-day publication of social content across a multitude of communications platforms.
Raven Software has not had a Community team ever. This could hint that the studio may become a lead developer on an upcoming project in the Call of Duty franchise.

There have been a few rumors surrounding this as well. Kotaku reported back in May that the studio was assigned to be lead developer of the 2020 Call of Duty game with Sledgehammer Games supporting, but Treyarch was asked to step in on the development to bring out a new Black Ops game for 2020 with Raven and Sledgehammer supporting them.
Another rumor floating around is that Raven is working on a possible Battle Royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The rumor states that the BR mode for the game will be free to play and is coming in 2020. With them hiring a Community Manager, this could be the reason for it.
We’ve not officially heard anything on this yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
