Pokemon Unite Mega Mewtwo X guide

Mega Mewtwo X is the latest addition to the All-Rounder roster in Pokemon Unite, and for the moment, it is dominating the competitive meta. Even with three nerfs in a row, its ability kit, passive, and stats make it the strongest and most versatile fighter in Pokemon Unite.

Facing Mewtwo in its basic form can be difficult if you don’t know how to counter it. Facing it in its Mega Mewto X form is asking for a beatdown. So if you plan to dominate the current meta, this is your best choice.

Pokemon Unite Mewtwo
Mewtwo is currently one of the best All-Rounder in Pokemon Unite.

Mega Mewtwo X’s ability kit includes powerful charged moves, access to survivability, overshield, speed, damage boost, and burst damage. Jungle is the best position to play it, but you can also play it Bot and Top.

To play Mega Mewtwo X, you should prioritize building it through the moveset Future Sight and Teleport. Combined with their Passive: Pressure, they are the ultimate tools to divide and conquer. Factoring in its Unite Move, Infinite Psuburn, it becomes unstoppable. Here’s what each move does:

AbilityEffect
Future Sight (R button)Targets all opposing Pokemon in an area and calls forth a powerful energy blast, rendering them unable to act, and reducing their defense for a few seconds. It also grants overshield and reduces all other abilities’ cooldown.
Teleport (ZR button)Teleports Mewtwo to a certain distance, increasing its damage and movement speed. Buffs the Mega Gauge output of basic attacks. This movement allows Mewtwo to jump over terrain.
Pressure (Passive)Doing damage with basic attacks increases the Mega Gauge bar. Filling the gauge evolves Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo X, increasing all its base stats. The Mega Gauge is enabled by reaching level 5.
Infinite Psyburn (Unite Move)Targets all opposing Pokemon in an area and calls forth a powerful energy blast, rendering them unable to act, and reducing their defense for a few seconds. It also grants overshield and reduces all other abilities cooldown.

Start the game by quickly taking the Jungle lane, farming, and reaching level 5 fast as you move towards the enemy camps. Don’t gank yet, wait until Mewtwo has reached level 7 and has learned Teleport. By this time, you probably have some points to score, but it is best to gank first, to clear the path to the Score Base.

Learn Future Sight at level 5, and quickly try to reach level 7. By the time you almost maxed out your Mega Gauge, it’s time to attack. Invade the enemy lane either by Top mid-section or Bottom mid-section, avoiding the enemy Speedster if present.

Open with Teleport, hit 2 or 3 basic attacks and Mega Evolve to Mega Mewtwo X, then lock on the heavy dps Pokemon of the enemy team using Future Sight for a quick takedown. Then quickly help any of the lanes to strike down the enemy Pokemon and score.

Mewtwo Skills Pokemon Unite
Mega Mewtwo X activates when the Mega Gauge is full.

When you reach level 9, you have gained enough momentum and your Unite Move: Infinite Psyburn. Invade through the enemy Jungle, taking down as many camps as possible, move towards the Top Lane or Bottom lane through the enemy lane, use teleport to avoid the speed debuff, and quickly gank the enemy from behind. Use your Unite Move to secure takedowns and advance.

Rinse and repeat to win. Mewtwo is fast, and Teleport makes it faster, but its main weakness is crowd-control and status effects. So avoid engaging Pokemon like Slowbro, Snorlax, Umbreon, and Mr. Mime directly, instead, target hard hitters like Cinderace and Talonflame first. Here’s the recommended item build to take advantage of this strategy:

ItemEffect
Scope LensMewtwo greatly benefits from Scope Lens increase in critical-hit rate and damage. Equip this to make its attacks even deadlier.
Razor ClawPower-ups attacks and grants slow to melee attackers. Must have for this Mega Mewtwo X build, since its a melee attacker.
Weakness PolicyThis item does wonders by adding durability and powering up damage as Mewtwo takes damage. A win-win in every extended battle.
Battle Item: Full Heal The best item to have with Mewtwo. Clear crowd-control and makes it immune to its effects for a brief time. Mewtwo’s main weakness is no more, and you can deal damage with ease.

In case you want to play Mewtwo in both Top or Bottom Lanes, you can still use this strategy, just try to max out your Mega Gauge with Pressure and then play aggressively before the other Pokemon evolve, to gain the upper hand. Maintain momentum and you’re all set.

Pokemon Unite Tsareena guide

Next on the list of Best All-Rounders in Pokemon Unite comes Tsareena. This All-Rounder is great at recovering from damage, and its Unite Move is one of the strongest crowd-control effects in the game.

Tsareena’s main weakness is that it’s not as durable as other All-Rounders, but it compensates with powerful combos and does Best on Top Lane or Jungle. This is a guide to playing it in the Top Lane and taking advantage of its powerful attacks and high sustain.

We will focus on the moves Triple Axel and Grassy Glide, alongside its evolving passive Oblivious/Queenly Majesty and its signature move: Queen Ascendant. Here’s an overview of those moves:

AbilityEffect
Triple Axel (R button)Dashes three times and kicks the opponent, dealing increased damage based on every enemy hit by a kick. It also increases Tsareena’s attack speed. When Queenly Majesty is active, each kick hitting a target restores HP.
Grassy Glide (ZR button)Glides dashing towards the designated direction, if hits an enemy Pokemon, increases Tsareena’s speed for a short duration. Double activate to repeat the dash and strike in the opposite direction. With Queenly Majesty active, it grants overshield upon use.
Oblivious/Queenly MajestyReduces the duration of crowd-control effects when inflicted upon the Pokemon. When evolving to Tsareena, this Passive becomes Queenly Majesty, empowering this effect and granting an extra charge of crowd control reduction upon inflicting three damage effects (basic attack or ability) on enemy Pokemon. It also empowers other moves when active.
Queen AscendantJumps into the air, strikes a single Enemy Pokemon in the air, and showers it with a flurry of kicks, dealing a burst of damage, and rendering Tsareena and the target unable to be targeted by attacks or positive effects. Upon ending the move, Tsareena drops to the ground, recovering HP, gaining a powerful overshield, speed buff, and cooldown reduction for its normal moves.

Bownsweet will quickly evolve to Steene at level 4, and then to Tsareena upon reaching level 6. This fast progression will reward defensive players, so try to position yourself in the Top Lane and push forward when the enemy is distracted, playing defensively and stealing neutral Pokemon as the occasion rises.

Upon evolving to Tsareena and learning Triple Axel and Grassy Glide, try to single-target enemy Pokemon and brawl with them. You will eventually activate Queenly Majesty and be ready to strike a powered combo.

Entering with Grassy Glide will position yourself in the fray, then hitting with Triple Axel will quickly activate the passive, and grant you HP recovery. Wait for the timing before dashing back, or you’ll expose Tsareena to a counter. Dashing in and out as you progress further until you deal enough damage to claim a takedown.

Tsareena in Pokemon Unite
Tsareena’s great mobility and sustain makes it a strong skirmisher.

Upon learning Queen Ascendant, target the Ranged enemy attacker first. When finishing it, upon receiving the buff, quickly outmaneuver and avoid encounters with Physical Dealers like Azumarril, Dragonite, and Scizor. Avoid enemy Speedster’s dives using Grassy Glide’s dash, then enter back and hit the combo with Triple Axel to quickly retaliate when your passive activates.

Target enemies with recovery and sustain, like Clefeable, Umbreon, and Greedent, and gain the advantage by overpowering their sustain. Deal enough damage and quickly dash out if the enemy team comes to help them. Then, take advantage of the lane shift, quickly dash towards the other lane, and you are clear to score, or strike down unsuspecting enemy carries.

When fighting a full team, quickly dash below the enemy target area, reposition with Triple Axel, and quickly take down the ranged dealers like Mew, Decidueye, and Cinderace. Target them with Queen Ascendant and when you drop down, you are ready to join your team in the skirmish.

Tsareena is a specialized skirmisher melee All-Rounder, with high mobility and sustain effects. So you better build it with more durability, to take advantage of this strategy. These are the best Held Items and Battle Item for Tsareena:

Muscle BandGrants Tsareena more damage and basic attack speed. This item will help you chain combos properly.
Buddy BarrierGives Tsareena a powerful overshield once it finishes its Unite Move. A must-have for extra survivability when things get complicated.
Focus Band or Weakness PolicyGo with Focus Band for extra sustain, as it grants more HP recovery. Or Weakness Policy for even greater resistance to crowd control. Your choice.
Battle Item: Slow Smoke Activate it to create a crowd control effect in the area. Tsareena lacks basic crowd control, so this grants it an extra boost to its kit to use when your Unite Move is not charged.

Overall, avoid enemy Pokemon with great crowd-control kits, like Snorlax and Mr.Mime, and also avoid getting into a direct fight with Mamoswine or Wigglytuff. If you can, take advantage of Tsareena’s mobility to avoid them during the whole game and you will be fine.

Pokemon Unite Zacian guide

Next in the best All-Rounders in Pokemon Unite list comes Zacian, the Legendary Pokemon. Its ability kit includes high damage, cooldown reduction, and a passive focus on scoring goals. Its main weakness is its poor base speed stat and the fact that it can only equip two Held Items, as Zacian comes with its own held item: Rusted Sword.

Zacian performs best in the Jungle lane, but also does great at Bottom, as he scales in late game, and can take the upper hand really fast even when the odds are against it. Here’s our specialized build for Zacian using Sacred Sword as its main ability, and Agility as its main buff ability.

We also need to take into consideration its Unite Move Sovereign Sword and Intrepid Sword passive:

AbilityEffect
Sacred Sword (R button)This passive is focused on granting Zacian extra effects when scoring goals. Holding the X button to score goals, will charge Zacian’s sword with Aeos energy, upon reaching the maximum, one of Zacian’s moves is empowered. Basic attacks are also empowered and their effects are empowered as well. This passive enters an immediate cooldown upon using an empowered move, but taking an enemy during the boost effect, will grant extra Aeos energy to Zacian.
Agility (ZR button)Removes crowd-control effects and greatly boosts movement speed for a short duration. The effect duration increases during combat with other Pokemon. Using it with boosted Aeos energy, grants Zacian Overshield and a greater speed boost.
Intrepid Sword (Passive)This passive is focused on granting Zacian extra effects when scoring goals. Holding the X button to score goals, will charge Zacian’s sword with Aeos energy, upon reaching the maximum, one of Zacian’s moves is empowered. Basic attacks are also empowered and their effects are empowered as well. This passive enters immediate cooldown upon using an empowered move, but taking an enemy during the boost effect, will grant extra Aeos energy to Zacian.
Sovereign Sword (Unite Move)Zacian’s signature move makes it charge a powerful strike with its sword, the longer you charge holding the Unite Move button, the more damage it will deal. Plus, deals extra damage to enemy Pokemon empowered by their own Unite Moves. If Intrepid Sword passive is active, the AoE of the sword is bigger and the damage is stronger.

Zacian doesn’t evolve, so its stats and scaling during the game are even and steady. You don’t need to rush to play Zacian, so its performance is better at Bottom than in the other lanes. Start by steadily gaining levels and pushing until you find an opening to score.

Reach level 5 to learn Sacred Sword, and level 7 to learn Agility. Boost your speed with Agility when closing the gap towards the enemies. Zacian’s combo regular attacks will have 4 strike effects, the first one deals regular damage, the second one will slow enemy speed, the third one restores Zacian’s HP and the fourth one reduces all move’s cooldown.

Combo duration can be extended by using abilities. So have this in mind when attacking. Zacian can join the fight, deal damage, and then keep pushing until he scores, to gain even more buffs and, of course, destroy the enemy bases.

Zacian Pokemon Unite
Zacian’s ability to scale while scoring goals makes it a pusher-specialized All-Rounder.

Zacian is a melee fighter, so getting close and personal is a must. Avoid prolonged fights versus enemies like Tsareena, with high sustain, and Garchomp, focusing on crowd control and burst damage. Gain the advantage during team fights by positioning yourself in between Supports and Attackers, protecting them both from enemy speedsters and avoiding frontline fights against Defenders.

By constantly pushing and scoring, Zacian takes advantage of its passive, and boosting its abilities while scoring will also mean that you are not so exposed to an enemy counter. Timing is of the essence. You can play bait and switch with your enemies, making them approach when scoring and charging your passive as you do.

Then you want to strike down the weakest with Sacred Sword and quickly vault out with Agility. When you retreat, bait the enemy towards your team, and quickly use Sovereign Sword, charge it up, and finish them. Repeat to gain the upper hand by snowballing ahead of the rival team. These selected items are recommended for an extra advantage:

ItemEffect
Rusted Sword (Zacian’s Unique Item)Zacian’s Unique Item, that cannot be removed. Grants its passive effect, and becomes more powerful with each level up.
Attack WeightStacks attack when scoring goals. Zacian specializes in scoring goals and scaling. So it’s a must-have.
Razor Claw Grants Zacian’s attacks extra power and slow effect, for more crowd control. You want to have this item later on the game, when team fights pop up all over the map.
Battle Item: X Speed or X AttackGrants a burst of speed or damage. Your choice. Although we would recommend always going with X Speed, Zacian’s main weakness is its low base move speed.

Using your skills right, your attack combo and Zacian’s passive can grant you total control over the Bottom lane. Bait the enemy team into a team fight, or constantly harass Bottom lane attackers to ensure they do not score. Use this strategy and you will dominate the Pokemon Unite battlefield using Zacian with ease.

Once you have dominated with these three of the best All-Rounders in Pokemon Unite, you can tackle those competitive matches with ease. You can also consult other Pokemon Unite guides and more Pokemon content here:
