Link Gerudo Town TOTK

Given the massive size of the map in Tears of the Kingdom, making your way across Hyrule is no easy task. Certain locations are difficult to find, so here’s a guide on how to get into Gerudo Town and continue to progress in TOTK.

Fans of the Zelda franchise continue to sink their teeth into everything Tears of the Kingdom has to offer. There’s plenty of exploration and discoveries to be made, with Link’s new abilities facilitating the journey across Hyrule and the Sky Islands.

Throughout their playthrough players will have to make their way to the iconic Gerudo Town. However, the classic area is one of the most difficult locations to reach, so we’ve put together a guide on how to find and enter Gerudo Town in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where is Gerudo Town in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, Gerudo Town is located in the Southwest region of Hyrule. You’ll find Gerudo Town at the very bottom left corner of the TOTK map.

Gerudo Town is located within the Gerudo Desert, which means making your way to the sought-after location is quite a difficult journey. Given the harsh weather conditions and excruciating heat within the desert, you’ll have to be prepared to face the surroundings.

You’ll need to account for weather resistance when navigating through the desert. Before making your way to Gerudo Town, we recommend preparing Chilly Simmered Fruit for heat resistance or cooking Spicy Peppers for cold resistance.

If you travel through the desert during the day you’ll need resistance to heat, and if you travel at night, you’ll need resistance to the cold.

You’ll have to make your way through the desert to reach Gerudo Town.

How to get to Gerudo Town in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You’ll have to make your way through a sandstorm in the Gerudo Desert to reach Gerudo Town.

Follow these steps to get to Gerudo Town in Tears of the Kingdom:

  1. Head to the Kara Kara Bazaar and activate the Mayatat Shrine.
  2. Locate the sand shroud to the south of the Kara Kara Bazaar.
  3. Head Southwest through the sandstorm.
  4. Use the gust of winds and the tornado of the sandstorm to activate your Paraglider and get across faster.
  5. Check your map while in midair to adjust your path to Gerudo Town.
  6. Continue Southwest by foot or Paraglider until you hit Gerudo Town.

Your map will be of no use while in the sandstorm, therefore it’s essential to get above the sands by using your Paraglider. Once in the air, you’ll have to open your map and judge if you’re on the right path to Gerudo Town.

How to get inside Gerudo Town Shelter Tears of the Kingdom

Once you reach Gerudo Town, your journey isn’t over as you’ll need to make your way into the Gerudo Town Shelter to progress the story. You’ll have to sneak your way through as the Gerudo Town policy does not allow for male visitors.

Once you start to explore the abandoned area, you may run into Reeza, who will not allow you to enter.

Therefore, you’ll want to follow these steps to get into the Gerudo Town Shelter:

  1. Face the palace stairs and locate the open drain to your left.
  2. Jump down the drain into the cave-like area.
  3. Head upstream following the torches along the walls.
  4. Once you’ve reached the end of the tunnel, use Ascend to reach the Gerudo Town Shelter.
  5. Buliara, the Gerudo leader will allow you to stay.

If you’re struggling to find certain locations, the above video by Gamers Heroes should be easy enough to follow.
