The McGeady spin is a useful skill move that can help you move past defenders, and here’s everything that you need to know about how to perform it in FIFA 23.
Five-star-skilled players can outmaneuver their opponents with some creative moves like the Trivela cross. Another one of these skills is the McGeady spin, and we’ll go over how you can pull it off in FIFA 23.
How to do a McGeady spin in FIFA 23
You can perform the McGeady spin by flicking the right stick in the direction that you’re facing and then flicking it 90 degrees left or right. If done correctly, this will cause the player to change direction away from the defender by making a 90-degree turn.
So, if you’re running upwards, you’ll need to flick the stick upwards before flicking it in the direction that you want to spin. When you spin off to the side, your opponent will find it difficult to catch you in FIFA 23.
This move can be performed in both Ultimate Team and Career Mode. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that you can only get it done when using a player with at least four or five-star skill moves.
How to cancel the McGeady spin in FIFA 23
If the defender is pushing up close, you can hold L2/LB and R2/LB together in order to cancel the McGeady spin. It may take a bit of practice, but you’ll get the hang of this skill move in no time.
The best time to use this move is when you’re moving up either wing and are trying to get away from the defender. Once you perform the McGeady spin while sprinting, the opponent will not be able to respond in time.
Performing the McGeady spin is also part of the Mbappe Rising Star Moments challenge that you can complete to get your hands on free packs. So, be sure to try it out the next time you hop into FIFA 23.
