It can be difficult to get all the materials you need in Nightingale, especially when you are first starting out. However, thankfully, one player has shared some helpful tips for easy material farming.

Materials in Nightingale are essential for increasing your Gear Score so you can get access to new Realms. They help with upgrading your crafting tables, creating new weapons, and upgrading them

While something like wood is pretty easy to get your hands on early game, it becomes a little more challenging when you’re looking for pieces like hinges and metal ingots. They don’t spawn as-is in the world. You have to find specific materials to craft them.

One player, though, has found a way to get hold of metal ingots, hinges, and other more rare materials in the early game that doesn’t require you to smelt or hunt down what you need to make them. The answer? Smashing some chests.

“Smash the chests you find with an Axe. You get free hardwood lumber, carved wood, hinges, and metal ingots (depending on the chest type),” ‘PanzerKommander’ posted on Reddit.

This simple trick will make increasing your Gear Score and crafting new items in Nightingale a lot more efficient when you are still trying to get the hang of the game. Another player also shared a tip for getting resources when you get your hands on recipes.

“I do this for materials and also smash crafting table augments that are placed in world. It has really helped for making those items and other things for my home realm once I’ve gotten the recipe for myself,” they explained.

While these methods won’t keep you fully stocked at all times, players found that they can be useful for getting materials that are more challenging to find to upgrade and craft the items you need.
