Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 is in full swing, and players are still getting used to the new weapons and map changes. With a Battle Pass full of colorful skins and interesting collaborations, there’s a lot to discover in the new season, but it seems like there are even more surprises on the way.
Epic Games released a hotfix patch on September 6 to introduce two new weapons and a couple of new Reality Augments. One of those weapons is the Shield Breaker EMP, so here’s everything you need to know about it, including how to get it.
What is Shield Breaker EMP in Fortnite
The Shield Breaker EMP is a new grenade that can damage enemy shields and “disable electrical systems like cameras, turrets, and laser grids,” according to Fortnite’s official patch notes. What’s more, it can also disable vehicles.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 introduced players to Kado Thorne, the villain behind the whole heist theme for the season. Thorne is in charge of three strongholds that refreshed the map, but breaching them to grab enticing weapons and items can be a tough challenge. That’s where the Shield Breaker EMP comes in handy.
It’s a great addition to this season and its new mechanics, but it’s hard to say if players will be able to get it after Season 4 ends.
Where to find Shield Breaker EMP in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4
The Shield Breaker EMP can be found as ground loot and also inside Chests and Heist Bags in Fortnite. Luckily, players won’t have too much trouble finding the new weapon in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.
Since Kado Thorne’s strongholds are full of Heist Bags, players can expect to see the Shield Breaker EMP very often on Relentless Retreat, Sanguine Suites, and Eclipsed Estate. This is very useful, especially for players trying to get into the well-guarded vaults. It can also be very helpful for those trying to complete Weekly Quests on those locations.
