Shortly after the reveal of the new Numbers Up promo, EA announced shiny Next Generation cards for some of the game’s fresh talent.
The best part is, you can earn one of these unique FUT items for free. Here’s everything you need to do.
What is FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Next Generation?
Next Generation is a brand new type of special card for FIFA 22, handed out to six players that are set to dominate the world of football for years to come. They are:
- Kylain Mbappe (86) – PSG
- Phil Foden (85) – Manchester City
- Theo Hernandez (85) – AC Milan
- Christian Pulisic (83) – Chelsea
- Jude Bellingham (81) – Borissia Dortmund
- Eduardo Camavinga (81) – Real Madrid
Each new card relates to a specific moment that these talented youngsters announced themselves on the world stage. For example, Foden his stunning volley against Everton in 2020.

Initially thought to be a replacement to the Future Stars promo, these new items are actually smaller one-off upgrades, or downgrade in the case of Mbappe, that won’t be coming to packs.
How to earn a free FIFA 22 Next Generation player
If you’re looking at these new cards thinking how nicely they would fit in your team – you’re in luck. Starting from Wednesday, December 15, 2021, EA will begin rolling out a random Next Generation player to anyone who has played FIFA 22.
Those picking up a copy after Christmas also won’t miss out, as players have until January 14, 2022, to log in and earn a free card.
Every player will qualify for a free untradeable Next Generation item, which is yours to keep until the end of the season.
Next Generation players are not dynamic, and won’t receive any future upgrades based on performance.
