The FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT promo brought sought-after items to Ultimate Team and we’ve put together an upgrade tracker so you can find out which of the promo cards received a major boost, with most of the matches completed.
FIFA 23 players experienced a notable lull when the Showdown Series promo failed to set Ultimate Team ablaze. Luckily, EA delivered a fan-favorite promo to get things back on track.
In FIFA 22, Fantasy FUT was one of the most popular Ultimate Team promos, and it became just as exciting in FIFA 23.
The Fantasy FUT promo delivered live cards, so let’s take a look at which players successfully claimed an upgrade in FIFA 23.

FIFA 23’s Fantasy FUT promo delivered plenty of juicy cards for Ultimate Team players to enjoy.
It’s important to note that the requirements had to be met within the players’ next six domestic games as of March 17.

FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT upgrades explained
EA revealed the official Fantasy FUT upgrade requirements in FIFA 23. In total, standard Fantasy FUT player items can earn a maximum of four upgrades, while Fantasy FUT Heroes can earn two.
Don’t forget, Fantasy FUT upgrades are based on the players’ next 6 domestic league games as of March 17.
Players will want to track real-life results to stay on top of Fantasy FUT’s upgrade requirements.Here are the upgrade requirements for FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT players:
- 1 win in the next 6 games: +1
- 3 appearances in the next 6 games: +1
- 2 goals or assists in the next 6 games for attackers and midfielders: +1
- 2 clean sheets in the next 6 games for defenders and goalkeepers: +1
- Avoid defeat in the next 6 games: +1 & 3 new traits
The third upgrade requirement is based on the player’s position, with forwards and defenders attempting to reach different goals.
Fantasy FUT Heroes upgrade explained
FIFA 23’s Fantasy FUT Heroes arrived with the promo. The boosted FUT Hero cards have their very own upgrade requirements that differ from the standard Fantasy FUT items.
Here are the upgrade requirements for FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT Heroes:
- 1 win in the next 6 games: +1
- Club avoids defeat in the next 6 games: +1 & 3 new traits
Avoiding defeat simply means that the club would need to earn a win or draw in six straight games. Take a look at our table above to find out which clubs are associated with each Hero card.
These could turn out to be incredibly viable cards if Fantasy FUT Heroes manage to secure the difficult upgrade of avoiding defeat in six games.
