There are plenty of features to make attacking feel slick, with the slower gameplay in EA FC 24 and the unique acceleration types that each in-game player has, some fans are finding keeping the ball out of the net more difficult than ever.
Thankfully, there’s a secret EA FC 24 setting that players can tweak to make defending more forgiving.
In a Reddit post, EA Sports FC expert, NealGuides, posted a host of tips for keeping the opposition at bay, where he urged players to “turn off Advanced Defending.” This option offers more freedom with how you can approach each tackle but turns off some of the assistance when it comes to positioning and the type of tackle.
Alternatively, by switching to Tactical Defending, the game will automatically choose the best tackle each time you press the Circle/B button, based on where your defender and the attacker are positioned.
“If you are struggling to defend make sure this is not [checked] by default,” he explained, before adding that Advanced Defending should be used by “elite players.”
How to turn off Advanced Defending in EA FC 24
EA FC 24 players can turn off Advanced Defending by heading to the ‘Settings’ section of the main menu. We’ve provided a step-by-step guide below:
- Load into the main EA FC 24 menu.
- Scroll left and hit ‘Settings.’
- Choose ‘Game Settings.’
- Under ‘Gameplay,’ scroll down to ‘Defending.’
- Change the selection ‘Tactical Defending.’
With this simple change, EA FC 24 players will be able to use jockeying and regular standing tackles to defend with ease, without having to be too precise with their positioning or selection of challenges.
