Prior to launch, EA Sports placed plenty of emphasis on all the new features coming to EA FC 24 Career Mode. While most changes make the experience better, the trimmed matchday intros have led to complaints from fans. The devs have now clarified the reason behind the change.

EA FC 24 brings with it a slew of new features that enhance the football sim experience. From the addition of female players in Ultimate Team to newly-minted Player Evolutions, there are enough new things that build upon prior titles. The fan-favorite Career Mode also receives a facelift with new mechanics that provide players with greater control.

Manager Career enthusiasts are now able to assert their playstyles using Tactical Vision, while Player Career fans receive Dynamic Moments that highlight important steps of their journey. All this and more makes for a rich Career Mode experience. However, one specific change has led to complaints from fans.

The change in question has to do with the new matchday intros in EA FC 24. Instead of panning shots showcasing the atmosphere, the game displays a much shorter intro before matches. Detailed looks at the lined-up players have also been removed, much to the dislike of fans.

Their complaints stem from the lack of ‘immersion’ the trimmed intros provide, with some even saying that it damages the experience. Career Mode fans have repeatedly asked for the intros to be updated and now EA Sports have clarified the reason behind the change.

A Community Manager from EA Sports said, “Players tended to skip the extended intros, and in the process sometimes miss important information and context.

“Our primary goal with the changes was to provide players with a smoother and more streamlined entry into the action by creating a shorter, more engaging experience that still manages to build anticipation and atmosphere.”

The statement was received poorly by fans on Reddit, with some arguing that the new intros were ‘jarring’ as opposed to engaging. One user said, “I’m still skipping the intros now that they’re shorter. Nobody has welcomed this change, it’s just that some people are not impacted. Not a single person benefits from this removal.” Another commented, “New feature for EAFC25 – ‘full, immersive competition-specific intros!'”

In response to demands for updated intros, the statement added that they will “evaluate further changes.” The complaint might be addressed in the future, although it remains unlikely.
