Warzone players want “trash” MW2 guns removed after falling out of meta

Warzone now features a huge pool of weapons from both Modern Warfare 3 and 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, but many players want the devs to remove the older guns altogether, as they’re being “outclassed” by the newer options.

The Warzone Season 1 marked the game’s full integration with Modern Warfare 3, bringing a slew of new guns to the battle royale. This takes the total number of weapons well over the 100 mark, giving players more variety than ever before.

As you’d expect, the new MW3 guns have taken over the meta since their arrival, with the BAS-B and WSP Swarm becoming the go-to picks. Meanwhile, the older options have slowly slipped out of favor, with only the likes of the Lachmann Sub managing to keep their popularity.

In fact, now that the pool of weapons has been increased, many players are calling for the Modern Warfare 2 arsenal to be removed altogether.

Reddit user ‘Henry_Sabondo’ posted asking the devs to “remove MWII guns completely,” before going on to explain why they felt that way.

“Why are they still even in the loot pool?” they asked. “[They’re] dog c**p compared to MW3 Guns. They have the highest TKK time. Terrible visual recoil and their mobility is trash. All the MW2 Guns compared to MW3s are outclassed by a mile.”

Plenty of other players responded agreeing with the OP and urging the devs to buff the MW2 guns in Warzone to keep them competitive.

“I agree, I don’t see the point of adding the MW2 guns to MW3 if they’re not going to be updated just seems pointless,” said one reply. “They should at least update the ones in Warzone floor loot to fit the same standard as MW3.”

Others mentioned that some of their favorite weapons from the Al Mazrah are no longer viable, forcing them to switch to the newer options whether they like it or not.

“There are guns in MW2 I really liked and wanted to continue playing with, but why would I put myself at a disadvantage to do it,” said ‘blackop.’

Some even speculated that the only reason the old lineup of guns was kept around for Urzikstan was so that players “can’t complain about previously purchased blueprints and skins not being available.”

While it’s extremely unlikely that Modern Warfare 2 weapons will be removed from Warzone after the Carry Forward feature let players keep their unlocks, the community will be hoping for some substantial buffs once Season 1 Reloaded rolls around.
