Will Call of Duty: Warzone be coming to the Nintendo Switch?

Call of Duty: Warzone has become one of the greatest battle royale experiences in the world. It’s available on all major consoles including PS5 and Xbox Series X, but will it be coming to the Nintendo Switch?

It’s rare to find a person that hasn’t heard the words “Call of Duty” at some point. The first-person shooter franchise has arguably become the standard-bearer in the industry, and any new FPS games are measured up against CoD.

Aside from its annual releases selling millions of copies each year, Activision’s cash-cow has found even more success with its battle royale experience – Warzone. Despite notorious run-ins with hackers, tons of people are dropping into Verdansk every day.

Players are dropping in on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC, but will they ever will be able to drop into Warzone on the Nintendo Switch?

As far as we know, there don’t seem to be any plans to release Call of Duty: Warzone on the Nintendo Switch.

It doesn’t seem like Activision has properly addressed the matter, or is ever going to. They seem to be more than content with the game’s success on other leading platforms, and it’s unlikely we’ll ever see the game on Nintendo’s popular platform.

Why isn’t Call of Duty: Warzone coming to the Nintendo Switch?

We believe the biggest reason for Warzone not coming to the Switch is primarily down to concerns about the console’s ability to run the game smoothly.

It’s well-known that it requires an incredible amount of storage space to run Call of Duty: Warzone. Even though the Switch is a beast in its own right, it may lack the required functionality to sustain 150 players across a gigantic map.

Are any other battle royale games on the Nintendo Switch?

At the time of writing, two of Warzone’s main battle royale competitors are both available on the Nintendo Switch – Fortnite and Apex Legends.

With many Warzone players and streamers – such as NICKMERCS – abandoning Call of Duty: Warzone in favor of Apex Legends Season 10, this will simply add to the handheld advantage the game has.
