Call of Duty: Warzone players have called upon the developers to introduce a quitting penalty for duos, trios, and squads as players are fed up with having teammates leave before the game is over.

Although Warzone has had a lot of success since the Season 5 Reloaded update, especially since the Iron Trials ’84 mode was introduced, recently, players have been unhappy with the state of the game.

Since the September 23 update, players have been noticing performance issues that have been running the experience. As well as these issues, players are now calling for developers to fix another, which involves introducing a leavers penalty.

Warzone players aren’t the first battle royale community to ask the developers to introduce a leavers penalty, as Apex Legends now has a similar system for ranked and Arenas, incentivizing players to stay in games longer.

This is the issue Reddit user Binarycold has been having in Warzone, as they put up a post explaining what it’s like to play “Warzone with strangers.”

In the post, the player seems to be fed with random teammates leaving games before it’s even done, stating that every game mode may as well be called solos or solos pending “since no one can ever stay in a full game.”

The user then states that the developers should “implement some penalty for quitting out, this is ridiculous!” Clearly, this player isn’t the only one who feels this way, as others in the comments also share a similar opinion:

“I’d love to see a deserter stat. Only applies on control initiated drops, not poor connection. I’d like people to be notified if the team they left won it too, or came second and might have won if the awol player would have stayed.

People have no tenacity any more. If they have a rough landing, they bolt. Where’s the grit? Softies”

It’s very frustrating when teammates leave the game when you could potentially recover from a bad landing or win a game despite being disadvantaged by a teammate dying.

We’re sure many teammates have missed out on great games and even victories as they have left way too early and would undoubtedly appreciate the developers introducing a leavers penalty to discourage this from happening.

With Warzone integrating with Vanguard in the future, there is always a possibility for the addition of a quitting penalty to be one of the changes made to the Call of Duty battle royale.
