The highly-anticipated game mode Resurgence, which takes place on Rebirth Island, also launches with the December 15 Warzone update. Here’s everything you need to know about the game mode and how to win.

How Rusurgence works in Warzone

Resurgence is the newest mode added to Warzone as part of Black Ops Cold War & Warzone Season 1 update.

It takes place on Rebirth Island, a remake of Black Ops 4: Blackout’s Alcatraz Island. This map is considerably smaller than Verdansk, so expect the gameplay to be faster-paced.

It’s the same as regular battle royale, except respawning will be a key feature for victory.

The Gulag has been replaced for a new respawn system, hence the mode’s name, ‘Resurgence.’ Once you have been eliminated, your squad must survive until the Rebirth Countdown reaches zero. After which, you are redeployed back into the fray.

Squad battles should be over quicker in Resurgence with the new mechanic that grants you “extreme clarity.” Once you take out an enemy, “you’ll gain a moment of extreme clarity on where the rest of that enemy team is located.” Use this information to hunt them down.

Winning in Resurgence is much the same as regular Warzone: be the last squad alive. However, the new mechanics will shake up the mode somewhat.

Utilizing the new mechanics will be key, such as taking advantage of the ‘extreme clarity’ mechanic.

If the rest of your team is eliminated, try and survive to get them back. It’s always fun running at every gunshot you hear, but in Resurgence, it might be better to keep a low profile and wait for your squadmates to return before pushing.

Once Warzone Season 1 launches on December 16, we’ll have all the tips and tricks to help you secure a victory on Rebirth Island.
