Call of Duty: Vanguard will see return of two major Modern Warfare features
Two mechanics from Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game will feature in the upcoming installment for the franchise, Vanguard.
Call of Duty: Vanguard will feature two gameplay mechanics from Modern Warfare that some players love, while others may not be fond of.
For those on PlayStation, Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Alpha will be available on August 27, giving players a first real feel of how the game will run before launch on November 5. For those on other platforms, don’t worry, as the Open Beta will be available soon after.
As players get their hands on early access to the game, they may feel and notice some very similar gameplay mechanics from Modern Warfare.
Not only will Call of Duty: Vanguard possess the same door mechanics as Warzone and Modern Warfare, but it is now confirmed that players will also be able to tactical sprint and mount weapons on surfaces.
Modern Warfare introduced new gameplay mechanics to Call of Duty, allowing players to tactical sprint and mount their weapons. These are the two returning gameplay mechanics that will return in Vanguard as players have found settings in the Alpha which refer to them.
Tactical Sprint is activated by double-tapping the sprint button, giving the player a faster sprint for a short amount of time, unless they are using the perk Double Time, which increases the duration.
Tactical Sprint was welcomed by players, providing a new fast gameplay mechanic which was exciting to use. However, weapon mounting wasn’t as well-received, with some players not too happy with the feature that essentially encouraged head-campers with less recoil on their weapons.
Regardless, these two features will be in Call of Duty: Vanguard, which makes sense since the game was made on the same engine as Warzone and Modern Warfare. Perhaps these mechanics may have slight differences and improvements. We’ll have to wait and see when the full game launches on November 5.
