Why CoD: Vanguard suppressors don’t keep players off the mini-map
It has been revealed that suppressors in Call of Duty: Vanguard will not keep players off the mini-map and here’s why.
Call of Duty fans have been treated to loads of new knowledge about the upcoming installment, Vanguard, since the Multiplayer reveal on September 7.
A select few were invited to play Vanguard early before the official Open Beta is released, allowing those who were lucky enough to get their hands on the game to convey some details on how everything will work in Multiplayer.
In Call of Duty: Vanguard, players will not be using a suppressor to stay off the minimap, but rather a new ammo type called “Subsonic.”
The Subsonic ammo type will provide the following benefits:
- No Minimap ping
- No Enemy Skulls
- Firing visibility to enemies
Although there aren’t any detailed cons about the attachment, the disadvantage would be not using any of the other ammo types that increase damage or range.

Suppressors in Vanguard will be used less for stealth, and more for recoil control and sound suppression.
In order to stay off the Minimap and counter those using the Radar Perk, players will need to run the Subsonic ammo type.
Ammo type seems to be quite an important attachment in Call of Duty: Vanguard, offering a variety of different playstyles and benefits to your weapon loadouts, making it hard to select which benefits you would prefer.
We’ll have to wait and see exactly how these attachments will work when the game officially releases on November 5, as there’s no doubt feedback will influence changes.
