Call of Duty: Vanguard Champion Hill game mode
Of the 20 multiplayer maps available at launch, 16 are devoted to the traditional multiplayer experience. These will be 6v6 maps for Vanguard’s core gameplay, with another four dedicated to the new Champion Hill game mode.
Champion Hill combines the ever-popular battle royale mode with Gunfight, the 2v2 mode that was introduced in Modern Warfare 2019 and continued into Black Ops Cold War.
This new mode sees eight Solos, Duos, or Trios battle it out in a “round-robin deathmatch tournament” until only one team is left standing. Each team has a number of lives, and once all those lives are up, you’re out.
Each round will last around 60 seconds, and the final two teams with lives remaining will battle it out in the final round.
Every player will begin with the same weapon, but similar to other popular games such as CS:GO and Apex Legends Arenas, there will be “Buy Rounds.” During this downtime between Combat Rounds, you can “upgrade your starting weapons and purchase new armaments, equipment, Perks, and Killstreaks.”
Eliminating players and collecting drops scattered around the map will give you the cash to purchase these powerful upgrades, so the mode will reward aggressive teams.
Call of Duty confirmed that even more information will be revealed ahead of Champion Hill’s debut on August 27.

In the Call of Duty League Champs stream, Sledgehammer Games dev Greg Reisdorf confirmed that there will be no loading time as “those four maps are in there together.”
Eliminated players can also spectate the action in the central Buy Station area.
