Baldur’s Gate 3 players often stumble across things that would make your heart skip a beat, but this player has found one of the “saddest” things in the game, and the community is finding it hard not to feel sad about it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a lot of room for character customization, and roleplay, and has an endearing cast of memorable characters. But even the most coldhearted Durge player would feel sad if they found what this player discovered during Act 2.

Prepare your tissues (or maybe some popcorn) because you are about to witness one of the saddest things you’ve ever seen in Baldur’s Gate 3. Beware though, there are spoilers ahead.

This was discovered by one of the members of the Baldur’s Gate 3 community, who took it to social media. In a Reddit post, user ‘IckyBB’ shared “one of the saddest things” in the game.

The OP then explained where they stumble across this pair of skeletons: “I found this is a house nearby Last Light Inn. It’s heartbreaking. What’s even sadder is that they both are wearing rings that say “A date was once inscribed on this ring, but most of it has since been worn away by time.”

To offer some context, the Last Light Inn is in the Shadowlands (AKA Shadow Cursed Lands), a place that’s ridden with a curse so strong, that rots the very fabric of reality twisting everything alive into shadow beings, surrounding it in darkness.

However, not all players saw pure tragedy in this scene. Reddit user ‘Rowanever’ said: “I actually thought this was kinda sweet. I mean sure, slowly dying to the shadow curse must suck, but some people at least got to do it cuddled up to a loved one.”

Despite the sadness of this Baldur’s Gate 3 discovery, the community was able to glimpse a ray of light amidst the darkness.

And if you are struggling to find this place in the game, we suggest you look around The Last Light Inn during Act 2. Just in case, make sure you carry the Pale Oak Staff, so you can be safe from shadow-cursed vines.
