Baldur’s Gate 3 players have discovered an absolutely hilarious way to kill any NPC that approaches their character.

Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a vast array of weapons, spells, tactics, and actions to deal with enemies, all taken from DnD. However, clever players keep on finding some new secret trick or exploit on a regular basis.

A new exploit seems to have found a way to kill or incapacitate anyone who comes close to your character in BG3. This is possible with the Sapping Curse and the corpse of a child named Victoria. The Sapping Curse makes the corpse a potent bio-weapon that you can carry along, and people will start dropping like flies.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players use creative trick to kill all NPCs

A Redditor named Not_a_tasty_fish shared this ingenious trick on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit recently. They used Minthara with a level 12 Paladin build to pick the corpse up from their camp and just casually stroll around Baldur’s Gate. As they do so, NPCs that end up being anywhere near her start going limp.

One Redditor’s comment on the amusing video reads, “I’m losing it at Minthara’s girlboss stride while everyone around her f***ing dies.” Another believes it is “The REAL way to play an evil campaign.” A YouTuber named Bazinga Gaming Videos tried the exact same method, and their result was equally hilarious. They used Shadowheart with a Cleric build and walked around the city of Baldur’s Gate in a similar manner.

One hilarious comment on the video reads, “finally some serious fps boost in act 3.” The final Act of Baldur’s Gate 3 has some serious FPS issues, and the culprit seems to be the abundance of NPCs.

Unfortunately, you won’t be getting any XP for all the kills, as it’s Victoria instead who racks them up. This also means that what you’re doing isn’t a crime, so you’re technically breaking the game.

How to use Sapping Curse as a weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you want to imitate the above strategy and weaponize the Sapping Curse in Baldur’s Gate 3, here’s what you should do.

  1. Once you reach Cazador’s Palace, look for a dead child named Victoria. Her corpse is afflicted with a ‘Sapping Curse’ that periodically deals 3-24 necrotic damage to anybody standing nearby.
  2. Pick up the corpse or stuff it in any storage container, then send it to your camp.
  3. You can now pick Victoria up from your camp chest and carry her around. Any NPC in your vicinity will be killed or knocked down (if their HP pool is too high).
  4. However, to ensure that you’re unaffected by the curse yourself, have someone with high Saving Throws pick her up. You can also use something like the Elixir of Necrotic Resistance, or any item that grants a similar passive ability.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players keep finding new secrets or clever exploits to trick the game. One Gale-related exploit allowed speedrunners to complete the game in record time. Meanwhile, a player discovered a hidden game over scene by going out of their way to break the game.
