During Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, players must decide on two ways to make it to Moonrise Towers. However, players think that they might miss a lot of precious content if sticking with only one option.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has multiple scenarios where players will need to choose between two clear paths. However, exploring everything the game’s got to offer sometimes means putting the storyline on hold and backtracking to get precious items that are a great help when facing the Mind Flayers.

In Act 2, players have to make it to Moonrise Towers to face Ketheric Thorm, and they have two options to do so: traveling through the Mountain Pass or trying to survive in the Underdark. While the first way lets you visit the Githyanki Creche and unlock a crucial part of Lae’zel questline, players feel that it’s key to go back to get everything the Underdark has to offer.

In a Reddit post called “I skipped the Underdark, did I screw up badly?” fans gathered to explain to newcomers why they should always give this region a go.

“There’s a lot of XP and some good items down there. It’s not mandatory for finishing the game but I’d recommend going back. You’re not locked out of Act 1 until you get another pop-up warning toward the end of Act 2,” said a player who summed up most comments.

Fans also described that there were some rare items that were crucial for some builds, such as the Phalar Aluve and Mourning Frost. They’ve also described that the Disintegrating Night Walkers boots could also be obtained in the Underdark, as well as the Grymskull helm and Jorgorgal’s Greatsword.

However, some pointed out that completing the Grymforge quests was crucial since it gave players the Adamantine gear, which is almost unbeatable throughout the story.

Some Baldur’s Gate 3 players were worried that they were locked out of the Underdark and couldn’t turn back to get all these precious items. Luckily, other fans put them at ease: “There is a specific trigger point of no return for Act 2, but before that point, you can go back and forth between Act 1 and 2 areas with no issue,” explained Redditor “Mautea.”

And that’s why Baldur’s Gate 3 players insist on never skipping the Underdark. If you want to know more about Larian Studios’ RPG, you can check which secret cave players found after a 400 playthrough and how to get the rare Gemini Gloves in the Devil’s Fee
